This is the website for the puppet troop http://www.nakedpuppets.org/. We have a couple of options as far as they go. The director is a professor and is in the middle of his semester so i don't know if he could come down. However two of the members have a group on their own and there is the possibility of getting them. One of them is in washington and the other is in portland (as far as tickets go) And we could get puppets to put on display, some of them are with them and some are with one of the members in Chico and i would be willing to drive and get those. So let me know if you guys want me to contact them.
They're really cool and have done this all over the country. They could do a performance and then Shawn could play during the opening. Also they could probably stay with my sister so that wouldn't cost...
I think that we could probably pull this off if we wanted to so let me know!

thanks for posting this, even with your spotty internet access. i think this is a cool idea. i wonder if maybe we could somehow just work out an exhibit that would feature the puppets on display and maybe a video or some other documentation of their performance/process. i think you have a really ambitiuos idea with trying to fly them down and have them perfrom something with the guy who sings, but i'm honestly concerned that that might be a bit much to tackle with the resources and time that we have. i think maybe, in the words of casey dikin "simplify and intensify" would be the best avenue to take with your idea. i think if you could get the ball rolling as far as communicating with the members of the grouop and maybe securing some photos of the puppets that would be available to us we could sart thinking about the space and different ways to display them.
